How To Care For Your Hair System

Not only will caring after your hair system make it look good, but you'll also extend its life

Brushing: Proper care must be made with your new system. Remember, the hairs have been carefully implanted into the base. Systems are durable, but if you're too rough, then shedding may occur. It won't if you carefully style your hair into place. Never use a hard brush. A soft brush or comb is better. Also, avoid excessive brushing. Don't forget, unlike natural growing hair, system hair won't grow back.

Shampoo: For best results, wash after you have removed the system from your head. Wash with warm water, using a soft baby shampoo. Agitate gently after immersing for one minute. Be careful not to rub the system hard! Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear. You can then use conditioner, and rinse gently again. Use a towel and blot the system. Do not wring or squeeze. And do not brush while hair is wet. If hairs tangle, then try to separate them gently with your fingers.

Drying: Let the system air dry on a wig stand, or slender object like a can of hairspray or a shampoo bottle covered with a hand towel. Do not use a hair dryer. Natural dry only. You may gently style the wig with your fingertips. But remember, do not brush until fully dry.

Styling: You can style it with a light brush, comb, or your fingertips. Keep it from human use brushes. These brushes can create excessive tension, over-stretching the hair with abrasive strokes that may damage it.

Frequently asked questions

  • What sort of hairstyle can I have?

Basically, any hairstyle a man with his natural head of hair can have, a hair wearer can also have.
Essentially there is no real difference as the freestyle system hair moves, can be combed and cut like a normal head of hair. But here are some things you need to consider:

  • Partial Systems

You can achieve really short haircuts with a partial system, as long as you're only buzz-cutting the sides and back.

  • Full Cap Systems

You are restricted how short you can go with a full cap. Never attempt to buzz-cut the sides and back and the results may look unnatural. That said, you can go as low as half an inch, as long as your density is average.

  • How to pick the right hairstyle

Obviously the younger you are (see the picture above), the thicker and more funky hairstyles will suit you. If you're in your 40s, you may opt for a more age-appropriate hairstyle.
